About Me
Music is more than sounds, more than melody, more than a beat… music is spiritual. Music can touch someone’s feelings, it can make them cry, make them laugh, make them move, and dance. Music is very powerful.
With me it started at a very young age, I remember as a little boy, my mom would take me to church on Sunday mornings, and as we walked in people would be smiling, some would be humming songs already, it was a nice atmosphere. She would walk me and my siblings to our spot in the back of the church and we would sit on these old wooden pews and wait for the service to get started. I remember it got hot in there, but when the band would start, it got even hotter. We sang a lot of church songs, of course, but in all different types of styles. They played all kinds of stuff, from rock inspired hymns, to R&B, to soul, even jazz. Man it was awesome, I learned to love music because of this, and it gave me a great appreciation for all different types and styles of music. People would get up and dance sometimes, right in church, everyone enjoyed the music, it was different back then.
As I learned to play the piano, I could not help but be influenced by great artists like Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, and so many others. At home my dad would put on James Brown records and such, and though my mom would make him stop, it sparked an interest in me and a desire to hear more. I remember thinking that I wanted to make music myself, and wanted to share it with the world. I can mark special events in my life, by the songs that were playing on the radio, and when I hear those songs today, my mind quickly jumps back to the memories of those events. I want to touch and enrich your life, the way my life was enriched back then and continues to be enriched today. That’s why I do this.
Good music stays with you, it moves inside you, and it marks a time and place for you. That’s why I love making music, and I want to do that for you. I hope you enjoy the music I make; I hope that it touches you in a very positive way. Regardless of where you come from, who you are, regardless of your religion, or belief, at the end of the day we all share this world together. I want you to have a wonderful life, and I would love for you to make my music a part of it…
